The closest thing to pen and paper!
From a creative who struggles with technology!
Oh my…another platform to learn…and to say that this is not my jam is an UNDERSTATEMENT! Ask my children, but more importantly ask my husband (who happens to be a computer consultant) how technology and I work together. The story isn’t pretty, one might say it is a blood bath at times! I unintentionally mess up settings, fonts, emails, and the list goes on & then my night and shining armor is quick to pick up the “technical mess” and bring it back to its original working state! So, Substack…consider this your warning, & my apologies for any of the mishaps that will be sure to happen as I learn, share & enjoy my time here! And those of you that choose to stay and read (and I love you for this!) buckle up…because I am sure to deliver some laughs & possibly some tears along the way, as I learn this new platform!
I kind of fell upon Substack & i fell hard! I want my creative space on the internet to feel special & feel like we are sitting in my home sharing a moment together. I want to feel more intentional about how i spend my time on social media. I am tired of 5 second tiny snippets that don’t make me feel fulfilled. I am already enjoying the thoughtful content that Substack GIFTS me & i am left with a feeling of contentment after spending time actually reading instead of scrolling! A much more wholesome feeling for me!
So what is this space going to look like…I would love to tell you :) but we will have to pivot and figure this one out along the way!
What i can tell you, is this…
You will receive a fun, light, creative email delivered to your inbox every week (hopefully, unless i mess up the technical side of all of this …tee hee!) You do not need to have the app, or follow any other platform…just your email!
Every week we will dive deep into a new art project focusing on the PROCESS because the beauty lies in the making…it always does…end of sentence!!!
The art project will show options teaching from preschool age to adult! I am not kidding when i say this!
I will have weekly studio time (think college professor office hours, but fun, instead of the icky biology kind) where I will be available to answer creative questions, share our individual projects, studio views, just a fun time together ). And i need a catchy name for this…any ideas??
Always always always focusing on studio spaces because who isn’t inspired by these?!? And i happen to be working on my studio…so I will take you along with me on this journey (which is incredibly slow!)
So that is that! I’m excited…I hope you are too! Let’s keep a good sense of humor as I figure all of this out & please know how much I deeply appreciate your time spent here with me!
